HOME SCHOOLED

I took Metro-North for the first time in a long while, heading home last weekend to visit the 'rents. Mom broke her arm while on a missions trip in Panama with her church. So I went back to see how she and Dad were doing. My Dad picked me up at the train station and then we picked up some groceries before driving back home. He had a grocery list and was methodically attacking the aisles. But there was something unusual going on. He was walking at a hurried pace, much faster than I typically walk. It didn't occur to me until later that he was moving as fast as he could so he could get home to Mom sooner. There was something very chivalrous about that. A husband running home to care for his ailing wife. A heart-warming lesson from home.
