COZY ALCOVE STUDIO

Today a coworker asked me what it's like living in a studio with my wife. Having survived New York City for ten years as a single, I got accustomed to living in cramped spaces. But just prior to moving in with my wife in 2007, I wasn't sure how it would work out sharing a studio with someone - with absolutely nowhere to hide except the bathroom. To my surprise, it's been good. Being a natural introvert, I thought it would be hard not having my own space, but Carol and I are able to either enjoy each other's company or zone out and do our own thing, even if we're only two feet apart. I consider it a huge blessing from God. I've also noticed that studios are great mediums for conflict resolution. If you have a problem with someone or someone has a problem with you, it tends to get addressed rather swiftly.

Refreshing to read this. I live in NC with wife and four kids in a 5300 SF house with payments probably comparable to yours. Never feels crowded but it is interesting to think of what it would be like living a city lifestyle.

This is an awesome study/analysis of spatial issues. I do some writing on Space myself as you will see, and you are so right about Conflict Resolution!

Beautifully expressed.
