RECOVERY WALK

This morning I walked with my mom's nonprofit in A&E's second annual Recovery Walk. Today was truly an inspiring day - crossing the Brooklyn Bridge with thousands of other people who turned out for the event despite the rain. Seeing individuals, friends and families of recovering alcoholics and substance abusers, and dozens of nonprofits and community organizers join together was a very cool thing to see. I was also inspired as I reflected on my mom's dedication to her life's work - helping substance abusers to get on the road to recovery and stay the course. This post is dedicated to her, A&E's work on the Recovery Project, and all of those who are recovering.
