A couple days ago, we caught the sunset at Palos Verdes. I think it's fascinating how the sun just seems to float in the sky endlessly throughout the day. Then in just a couple of minutes, it drops fast and vanishes below the horizon. My time out in L.A. felt like that. The first six days took on the normal pace of life. But the last three days faded into history like those final moments of a sunset. We're packed. Physically ready to leave, but not anywhere near emotionally and mentally ready to depart from our family here.
